About the Series

The Izutsu Library Series on Oriental Philosophy aims at providing conceptual “space” to construct an Oriental philosophy and at contributing to the development of thought in the twenty-first century. This series, a long-term project, will publish translations into Western languages such as English, French, and German, with the expectation that the translations will themselves naturally and necessarily open up a functional semantic field in which the Orient encounters the Occident, and the traditional the existential present.
